Basic crockpot beans
2eaonions, chopped
2-3eagarlic cloves
1lbdried beans, soaked 4 hours or overnight
1-2eabay leaves
1xwater to cover
Directions:
Put in crockpot and cook about 4-6 hours on high or overnight on low. Beans should be soft (small white beans take longest, pinto beans shorter) Add spices, veggies, etc. (see below) cook about another hour.Spices:, veggies, etc:---A--- 1 ts dried cumin1 ts paprika1/4 ts cayenne pepper1-2 tb soy saucechili peppers, choppedgreen pepper, choppedcan tomatoes, choppedfrozen corn (good with black beans)1/2 tsp liquid smoke tastes good added ---B---1 tsp cumin1 can green chilis, choppedgreen pepper, chopped1 tb soy sauce (good with white beans). ---C---1-2 tb soy sauce1/4 c molasses1/4 ts cayenne1/2 ts dried mustard, (good with pinto or black eyed peas)
