Nannie's Ice Cream

4 cups milk whole
6 egg yolks
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cans evaporated milk
2 tablespoons vanilla
3 cup milk( caution just enough for cannister) -- (3 to 5)
4 medium bananas
Scald milk in doubles boiler. Beat egg yolks , sugar and salt. Pour milk over
mixture.
Return to double boiler and cook until it coats spoon. Allow mixture to cool. A
dd fruit,
evaporated milk, vanilla, and enough of the cold milk to filk the ice cream con
tainer.
Freeze according to manufacturer's directions. Makes 1- 1/2 gallons.
